To the Sister of my Heart

You are every flower I've ever seen ...

Every ray of sun that's touched my face ...

Every tree that has sheltered me from storms ...

There's no one who can replace.

**~~*~~**

Who else would know the limpet's surf

Or how waves could cool burning feet ...

Who else would understand my songs

Or words I've yet to meet.

**~~*~~**

I could say it was fate ... not true.

God had a plan ... and He guided you to me ...

And no matter what the fates may say,

Together we will always be.

**~~*~~**

We're two souls now on earth

And we've been here before ...

And all in heaven sing the refrain ...

Forevermore, forevermore.

**~~*~~**

Yes, I'd have to plant a forest

In remembrance of my dearest heart ...

And the branches would reach up to us

To whisper ne'er apart ... ne'er apart.

**~~*~~**

And we'd always hear the whispers ...

No matter how softly spoken ...

For in this and other universes

There's love that can't be broken.

**~~*~~**

Whoever leaves this life first

Will make tears fall like the worst tempest ...

But entwined as ever we will be

We must know to come will be the best!

**~~*~~**

And we shall laugh at waves that buffer

And dance upon the outer space

And feel the comforts of no pain

In our own time and place.

**~~*~~**

Oh yes! I'll plant a forest

And talk to all the trees

And pray to God until He cries

And knows I need the other half of me.
