THE CANDLES
All across this land of ours
there are candles burning ~
for those in need of wellness,
and for those who are mourning.
We know their needs
by the caring of their friends;
and no one is a stranger
and our prayers have no end.
Each, in their own way,
gives off a special light.
Each relates to the need of help
no matter the plight.
And time zones and distances
have no meaning,
for in each heart
there is a candle gleaming.
We may never meet
except through these words,
but our words are prayers for you,
and they will be heard.
Separated by distance,
our hands may never touch.
But know in your heart of need,
we love and care very much.
The world can seem a lonely place
when pain and grief are churning.
But please be assured that
each one of us is a candle burning.
